Webb3 apr. 2015 · I mean, shiny stainless steel is all fine and dandy for certain applications, but who really cares about the barrel itself since you're only going to see the exposed front of the muzzle. I suppose the bluing may get worn on the barrel itself but you're only going to see that when the slide's locked back or you're cleaning it, right? Webb15 apr. 2016 · Stainless is definitely better, hunting definitely get a matte barrel. A 6.5x47 is a great LR rifle. I would get this (in fact I personally have 2) before the 2 you mentioned above. Don't rule out a 260. If you start Target Shooting & hunting with the same rifle, expect to replace barrels anywhere from 800 to 3,000 rounds down the tube.
